Pre-care
Before you come in for a VI Peel, please plan for very little activity outside your home for 4-6 days. It is important to not be sunburned or have had a peel in the last 21 days. Your skin must be clean and dry for treatment and active acne breakouts or other open sores should be avoided. Again if you are allergic or even sensitive to salicylic acid, have open sores or are pregnant or breastfeeding you should not do this peel.
Post-care
After your treatment you may be a little pink and your skin may be a little sensitive and tight feeling. You will need to leave the peel chemicals on your skin for 4 hours afterwards and should stay indoors during this time. That evening, you will feel some itching and may take an antihistamine such as Benadryl, do your best not to scratch. It is important to wear a high quality SPF always. The VI Peel comes with an at home kit with instructions and products to use for the next seven days, you must follow these closely and avoid heat and sun during the peeling process.

There is not really any strict down time, however you will be flaky and peeling for day 3, 4, 5, maybe day 6 and 7. But most people continue going to work and social events. Always wear spf 30 or higher sunscreen. The more rigid restrictions are no exercise or direct sun exposure for day 1 through day 4, once peeling has begun light exercise is allowed, but avoid getting too hot or sweaty as the new skin underneath can sting or hurt as you sweat. It is best to wait till the peeling has stopped before intense exercise can resume.
